Eligibility
Educational Requirements: As per the eligibility criteria, it is essential for an applicant to hold a degree in engineering from a university recognized by the state/centre government or a degree/diploma in Engineering from any foreign University/ College/Institution as recognized by the Government for the purpose from time to time or have passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecomm.

Exam pattern
IES is a written examination comprising of objective and conventional papers.

The exam will be held in a span of three days.

Total number of papers to be attempted by the candidates is six. Following is the quick snapshot of the exam pattern:

Day I: General Ability Test – Part A: General English & Part B: General Studies – 200 marks
Day II: Objective Paper I and II – 200 + 200 = 400 marks
Day III: Conventional Paper I and II – 200 + 200 = 400 marks

The maximum marks in each of the above-mentioned paper is 200 and time duration is 2 hours. The maximum marks in the IES written exam is 1000
