Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has declared a latest Gazetted Probationers (Preliminary) Examination (KAS) notification for the recruitment of Group A & B vacancies.

Age Limit:
Should be between 21 to 35 years for General Merit (GM), 40 years for SC/ ST/ Category-1.

Eligibility:
Should possess Degree/ PG from any Indian Recognized University/ Equivalent.

Selection Process:
Selection will be based on Preliminary Exam, Main Exam & Personality Test.


Instructions to Apply Online:
1. You are advised to scan their photograph, signature before applying online.
2. You should have a valid e-mail id.
3. Log on to the official website of KPSC.
4. Click on “Application For Gazetted Probationers Examination ″.
5. Select the ‘I Accept I have gone through the above instructions and click on ‘Open Application.
6. Click on “Apply” to open the online application form of appropriate post.
7. Enter the details like Personal, Educational qualification, Age, Relaxation, Contact Details.
8. Submit the application form, application number and password will be generated.
9. Edit the application by using Application number & Password.
10. Upload photograph & signature by clicking on “Photo & Sign Upload” by entering Application number & Password.
11. Print the Application by select the ‘Print Application, and take print out for future reference.
12. Pay the fee by select the ‘Payment Details by entering application ID & Password.
13. Take print out of Challan form and pay the fee.

Important Dates:as this year the dates were gone you can apply for the same next year.

Starting Date to Apply Online: 22-01-2015.
Last Date to Apply Online: 20-02-2015
Last Date for payment of application fee (Within working hours of Post Office): 21-02-2015.
Date of Preliminary Exam: 19-04-2015.
Main Exam: August, 2015.
List of Exam Centers: Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli/ Dharawad, Gulbarga, Shivamogga, Ballari, Belagavi.

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):

Paper-I:

(i) Current events of National and International importance.
(ii) Humanities – History of India – Emphasis shall be on broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects with a focus on Indian national movement with special emphasis on Karnataka.
(iii) World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on Karnataka.
(iv) Indian Polity and economy, including the country’s political system, rural development, planning and economic reforms in India-sustainable development, poverty alleviation, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.,

PAPER –II:

(i) Current events of State importance and important State Govt. programmes.
(ii) General Science & Technology, Environment & Ecology – contemporary developments in science and technology, and their implications including matters of everyday observations and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline, general issues on Health, environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change- that do not require subject specialization.
(iii) General Mental Ability – Comprehension, Logical reasoning and Analytical ability, Decision making, problem solving, Basic innumeracy (numbers and their relations, order of magnitude etc.,) and data interpretation ( charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc., (class X / SSLC level).
