Information About National Eligibility Test
I have completed my engineering and want to give the UGC NET exam I want to know is I am eligible to write UGC NET examination after completing B.Tech? please provide me the eligibility criteria to sit in the UGC NET exam and also provide me the UGC NET exam pattern?

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission is conducts National Eligibility Test to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities, Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science subjects, namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the UGC. NET qualification procedure: UGC NET qualification is divided into following steps: Obtain minimum qualifying marks Who have cleared first step with all subjects; a merit list will be prepared. Top 15% candidates will be selected for each subject and category eligibility for Assistant Professor only. Subjects of the Test: Chemical Sciences Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences Life Sciences Mathematical Sciences Physical Sciences Education Qualification: Candidates should have M.Sc. or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years /BE/B. Tech /B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates Age limit and relaxation For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants For LS (NET): No upper age limit Application fees: For General - Rs.1000/- For Other Backward Classes (OBC) - Non Creamy Layer - Rs.500/- For SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) or Visually Handicapped (VH) - Rs.250/- Important Dates: Online Application Form Submission: 17th October 2016 Last Date for Applying Online: 23rd November 2016 Last Date of Submission of Fee: Extended to November 24, 2016. Correction in Particulars of Application Form on the Website: 22nd Nov to 29th November 2016 Uploading of Admit Card: 21st December 2016 Date of Examination: 22nd January 2017 (Sunday) |
