Public Grievances Commission and the Grievances Redressal Mechanism in Delhi

The Public Grievances Commission (PGC) was set up with the earlier endorsement of the Central Government, Ministry of Home Affairs passed on vide Ministry of Home Affairs, D.O. letter No. 14011/40/95-Delhi dated 26th June, 1997. The PGC appeared under a Resolution No. F.4/14/94-AR dated September 25, 1997 issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

The Public Grievances Commission is an extra gathering where people in general can hold up their grievances. As of now, the Directorate of Grievances in the Office of the Chief Minister, the Grievances and Anti-debasement Cell headed by the Secretary (AR) and the Directorate of Vigilance of the administration get grumblings of inaction or defilement by the departmental authorities. A different grievance redressal system exists under every division and in the nearby bodies like Municipal Corporation of Delhi, NDMC, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Transco and so forth. The Public Grievances Commission is a body which cross-cuts parts, offices and offices and gives a basic, for all intents and purposes paperless system where the general population can by and by talk their brain calling attention to the challenges they have confronted. Objections are held up with the PGC when subjects find that regardless of having moved toward the concerned office, office or neighborhood body, the issue stays uncertain. Amid hearings in the PGC, the complainant and the departmental officers are heard one next to the other. Full thought is given to the issue as a moderately senior officer more often than not goes to the hearing.

Departmental authorities need to give their explanations behind not taking care of the protestation or grievance prior. Along these lines, the complainant hears the departmental perspective too. He can intercede and call attention to essential perspectives which might not have been observed amid the departmental examination of an issue. The most remarkable part of the Commissions working is the open door that it gives to every complainant to express his grievance, as he sees it, eye to eye with the office officers rather than through correspondence and documentation. The departmental officers are frequently persuaded by the candidates perspective and they attempt to adjust an obvious off-base. The Commission in the wake of hearing the two sides passes a talking request showing what should be finished. Because of this approach it is conceivable to reduce a significant number of the honest to goodness issues confronted by the general population. Where inaction, provocation or degenerate practices are by all appearances clear, the Commission reaches its own particular determinations on the realities accessible and prescribes that disciplinary enquiries be begun against the authorities. The Commission likewise passes a request on how the grievance ought to be settled.
