Procedure to become IAS officer
What is the Procedure to become IAS officer in India??????????? If you want to become an IAS officer then you need to appear and clear the Civil Service Exam which is conducted by UPSC. Process to become IAS officer after XII --- -After completion of higher secondary, you are required to obtain graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognized university. -Bachelor degree is the minimum qualification required to apply for the civil service exam. - After obtaining the bachelor degree, you can appear for Civil Service Examination -Civil Service Exam is an all India combined competitive examination which comprises of two stages. They are Preliminary Examination Main Examination Preliminary Examination-- -Preliminary examination is usually conducted in the month of May/ June every year. -You can choose your optional subject from the list given below. Agriculture Geography Geology Indian History Law Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Botany Chemistry Civil Engineering Political Science Psychology Public Administration Electrical Engineering Philosophy Physics Sociology Statistics Zoology Commerce Economics Medical Science - After clearing preliminary examination only you are eligible for the main exam. Main Examination-- Main examination is of descriptive type. It consists of nine papers. It comprises of the following papers. One Indian Language for 300 marks General Essay for 300 marks General Studies of 300 marks English for 300 marks Any two optional papers for 300 marks each Personal Interview -The final selection for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is carried out on the basis of personal interview. -Usually the final interview is conducted in the month of April/ May every year.
