Re: SCRA Bank Of America
Well the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act (SCRA) gives protections for individuals who are getting the service, called to active duty in the military or deployed servicemembers. The SCRA is for postpone or suspend civil obligations—many of them financial—so service members may give their full attention to their duties when their family members experience less stress. SCRA Eligibility Active duty in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard, including reservists serving on active duty National Guard service for more than 30 consecutive days under federal orders issued by the President or Secretary of Defense Commissioned officers of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and Public Health Service on active service Bank of America also extends certain benefits to the spouse or dependent of a covered servicemember, even if the servicemember is not on the account The SCRA places a limit on the amount of interest that may be collected on financial obligations of any kind: 6 percent per year during the time of military service. Any amount over and above that 6 percent is permanently forgiven. |
