Thiruvalluvar University is situated in Vellore and is an affiliating University. The University currently has seven departments, namely, Tamil, English, Economics, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Bio-Technology. Thiruvalluvar University offers PhD programs in 7 different specializations, through these departments. PHD Admission details: The admission to PhD programs is conducted in four sessions every year. The complete application form with the necessary certificates for admission to PhD programs must reach the University office before the first working day of January, April, July, and October for provisional registration. PhD Eligibility Criteria: Thiruvalluvar University offers admission to the PhD programs in three different categories: Full-time Part-time Independent Research Scholar A candidate must have a Master's degree with not less than 55% of marks and 50% marks for SC/ST category or a CGPA of 5.51 and above in the 10.00 point scale under CBCS, under the faculties of Arts, Science, Fine Arts, Indian and other languages, Management etc. A Research Fellow working in research projects funded by external agencies such as DST/ DOD/ DOEn / UGC / CSIR and similar national/ international and state level organizations in this University/ research centres/ affiliated colleges can also apply.
