The Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a social sciences institute with its main campus based in Mumbai, India.

About the Course : Public policy and governance have been acknowledged all over the world as no longer belonging to the sole domain of the State, and that various stakeholders and constituents participate in negotiating policy formulation and implementation. Policies that emerge through this dialogue are expected to be consistent with the overall blueprint that the country lays out for itself as part of its Constitution

Eligibility

The programme is open to Bachelors degree with a pass class cleared in one sitting. This masters programme will draw students who have completed graduation in law, economics, sociology, political science, engineering, medicine, social work, management, anthropology, psychology and similar disciplines.

Programmes is also open for development practitioners, policymakers, government line ministry staff and programme managers, to engage in complex local governance processes.

Admission Criteria :

The selection of candidates for different programmes happens in two stages and has three components of assessment. All candidates appear for the National entrance test (TISSNET)

The weightage for NET, PIT and PI is as follows for the for the preparation of final merit lists for General as well as for Reserved Category candidates. NET – 40% ; PIT – 30% ; PI – 30%.
