Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination (TNPCEE) is an entrance examination used for admitting students to the Engineering and Medical Colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is conduct by the Anna University under the Tamil Nadu Governments Education department to join professional courses like B.Tech, MBBS, BPT, Bachelor of Veterinary Sc/ Fisheries Sc, BSMS, B.Sc Agriculture/ Forestry, B.Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, BDS, B.E. and BHMS in government and private institutions. Important Dates of TNPCEE 2016 (Tentative) • The online and offline registration starts in the month of May 2016. • The online and offline registration closes in the month of June 2016. • The exam will happen in the month of July 2016. • The TNPCEE result will be officially announce in the month of July 2016. Eligibility Criteria for TNPCEE 2016 • One must be a native of Tamil Nadu. • One must be a fulltime student passing or appearing for Higher Secondary Examination. • One must secure 60% and above marks in 10+2 level. • One preferring engineering program must have Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subject in 11th and 12th standard. • One preferring medical program must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology as main subject in 11th and 12th standard. Exam Pattern The entrance examination consists of following papers. The papers are objective type with multiple choice questions from following areas Biology Physical Sciences (Questions in Physics and Chemistry) Mathematics Vocational Subjects (For Vocational stream candidates) Aptitude Test in Architecture (Compulsory for B. Arch. Candidates) Selection Procedure Exam Pattern: The Entrance examination contains 3 papers: Mathematics, Physical Science (Physics and Chemistry) and Biology with multiple choice questions. Each paper carries 50 marks. The marks in the TNPCEE are combined with the marks in the Class 12 Board Exam to arrive at a "cut-off" which is used to determine the rank of the students. |
