RMIT University accepts a range of English proficiency tests (please see table below).

Minimum English language requirements may differ between programs at the same study level.

An English language proficiency test is used for admission, the test must be taken no more than two years prior to the RMIT program commencement date.

Where an RMIT English Worldwide (REW) proficiency certificate is used, the REW certificate must be obtained no more than 12 months prior to the program commencement date.

Accelerated Foundation Studies program 535 (TWE* 4.0)

TOEFL (Internet Based Test - iBT

VCE, Foundation studies and Vocational Education- Overall score 71 with minimum of 17 in all sections
Accelerated Foundation Studies program -Overall score of 75 with minimum of 18 in all sections
Associate Degrees - Overall score 79 with minimum of 19 in all sections

Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A))

VCE, Foundation studies and Vocational Education - 42 (no communication band less than 36)
Accelerated Foundation Studies program - 46 (no communication band less than 40)
Associate Degrees - 50 (no communication band less than 42)

IELTS (General) is not accepted for admission into RMIT university programs.
