Travis County TX - Gardner-Betts Juvenile Justice Center is a low security correctional facility.

The Travis County Juvenile Court:

Provides for public safety while addressing the needs of juvenile offenders, families, and victims of crime; and

Assists parents in collecting and distributing court-ordered child support

Detention Services is the division responsible for housing and supervising juveniles awaiting trial who cannot be returned to the community during that time.

Court Services consists of:

Intake where juveniles are originally brought when an offenses has been committed;

Deferred Prosecution where juveniles are informally processed for misdemeanor offenses,

The Court Unit where court investigators prepare cases for court to address the alleged delinquent conduct of juveniles; and

The Legal Unit, which prepares and documents legal proceedings for court and maintains legal files.

Probation Services

Probation Services consists of three field supervision units, an intensive supervision unit, and a resource management unit.

They are responsible for supervising juvenile offenders who have been tried in court, found guilty, and placed on probation.

Supervision affords public protection, teaches juveniles accountability for their actions, and enhances their ability to make decisions in their lives.

Residential Services

Residential Services provides residential care to court-committed, male juveniles.

They also manage the Gardner Betts Day School Program for AISD students who are under court supervision.

Administrative Services

Administrative Services supports the department in the areas of finance, training and education, personnel, building maintenance, research, and volunteer coordination.
