Re: WB Primary Teacher TET Exam Date

West Bengal Primary Teacher Eligible Test (WB Primary TET) Exam is conducted by West Bengal Board of Primary Education for recruitment of teachers in Government schools in West Bengal.

The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WBTET) Exam was conducted on 11.10.2015

WB TET Eligibility Criteria


For Primary Teacher (Class I to V):

Senior Secondary or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks.

Those are ready to appear in 2 year Diploma in Education in Special Education/4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) /final are eligible to apply.

Candidates pursuing 2 years Diploma in elementary Education are eligible to apply for the primary level post.

For Upper Primary Teacher (Class VI to VIII):

1) B.Sc/ B.A or equivalent to this.

2) B.Ed/Secondary Education with minimum 50% marks.

3) Those who qualify the Final 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed) are also eligible tom apply.

4) Those are appearing in Final 2 year B.Sc B.A/ D.Ed and also pass it with minimum 45% marks.

Application Fee:

(a) Application fees for General and OBC-A/OBC-B candidates: Rs. 250 /-

(b) Application fees for reserved (SC/ST/ PH-VH/PH-HI/PH-OH) categories: Rs.80 /-.

WB TET Selection Procedure

A Person who scores 60% or more in the TET examination will be considered as TET pass.

However relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/PH.

Following is the procedure of selection for pass graduate teachers:-


a) 40 percent marks obtained in TET out of 150 marks: 60 marks
b) Academic qualification including professional qualification: 30 marks
c) Teaching experience: 5 marks
d) Personality Test: 5 marks

Following is selection procedure for Hons/Post Graduate teachers:-

a) Subject test: 60 marks
b) Academic qualification including professional qualification: 30 marks
c) Experience in teaching:5 marks
d) Personality Test: 5 marks.

Negative Marks: There shall be no negative marks for the test.
