The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission UPSC for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) It is conducted in two phases - a preliminary examination consisting of two objective-type papers (general studies and aptitude test), and a main examination consisting of nine papers of conventional (essay) type followed by a personality test (interview). List of Services- Following are the services which one gets on qualifying the Civil Service Examination. Group A Services Indian Administrative Service Indian Audit and Accounts Service Indian Civil Accounts Service Indian Corporate Law Service Indian Defence Accounts Service Indian Defence Estates Service Indian Foreign Service Indian Information Service Indian Ordnance Factories Service Indian Police Service Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service Indian Postal Service Indian Railway Accounts Service Indian Railway Personnel Service Indian Railway Traffic Service Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) Indian Revenue Service (CBEC) Indian Trade Service Railway Protection Force Group B Services Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service Pondicherry Civil Service Pondicherry Police Service CSE Eligibility- Degree of a Recognised University or equivalent Candidates appearing in the requisite Degree qualification are also eligible to apply Age - limits: 21-30 years as on 1st August of the year of Examination. Certain categories of persons as specified in the Commission's Notice as published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar are eligible for age relaxation. |
