Indian Administrative Services (IAS) is a Entrance test , Which is Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) .

Which Includes a Three-Stage Combined Selection Process called the Civil Services Examination and is Extremely Challenging.

A Preliminary Examination of an Objective Nature
A Main Examination, which Includes both a Written Test and an Interview

Candidates who Qualify in the Preliminary Examination of the IAS, would be Eligible to appear for the Main Examination.

Candidates who Qualify in the Main Examination of the IAS would be appointed as Civil Servants.

The Preliminary Examination will Consist of two papers of 200 Marks Each, Based on Diverse Subjects such as :
English,
Aptitude and Reasoning


The UPSC has Revised the pattern of the written Examination for the Civil Services from this year Onwards and Candidates’ have to now Attempt a total of Nine Papers (2+7).

The Selection Procedure Compromise of:
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Interview

Paper pattern:

The Preliminary Examination Consists of Objective Type (multiple choice questions) each of 200 Marks and Carries a total of 400 marks.

The Question Papers are Set both in Hindi and English.

The Duration of the paper is of two Hours.

The blind Candidates are Permitted Extra Time of 20 Minutes for Each Paper.
