Re: IIT Bombay NCPRE
The National Center for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) at IIT Bombay was propelled in 2010 with subsidizing from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of the Government of India. The 5-year Phase I of NCPRE endured from 2010 to 2015. Stage II began in 2016, and subsidizing has now been stretched out till 2021. The wide targets of NCPRE are to give R&D and instruction support to India's aspiring 100 GW sun oriented mission. NCPRE has 39 employees and more than 120 research staff crosswise over 8 Departments at IIT Bombay taking a shot at different parts of PV. Brilliant lab offices have been set up which are available to all NCPRE scientists. NCPRE conducts intermittent here and now courses about the most recent advancements in the field of photovoltaics, for working designers in industry and in addition personnel and understudies from scholarly establishments. The Center is associated with both fundamental and connected research exercises. These exploration exercises incorporate silicon sun based cell creation and portrayal, new materials for PV gadgets, vitality stockpiling and batteries for PV, advancement of energy electronic interfaces for sunlight based PV frameworks, and module portrayal and dependability. NCPRE has a solid program of industry outreach. It has a fruitful Industry Affiliate Program (IAP), and embraces undertakings and consultancy in its subject matters. It likewise gives administrations to portrayal and estimation where accessible. NCPRE additionally investigates the innovation premise of sun based vitality approach, and brings out pertinent reports here. NCPRE is going by Principal Investigators (PIs) Prof. Baylon G. Fernandes and Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, and co-PIs Prof. Sagar Mitra and Prof. Anil Kottantharayil.
