You can choose any subjects according to your interest, in the order to become IPS, but generally students prefer art subjects, rather then commerce, as it is very easy to study. Eligibility for the IPS entrance examination: The applicant should hold bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university, final year students also eligible for this examination. Age Limit: Candidate’s age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates, 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates The selection process has following three stages: Preliminary Examination Mains Examination Personnel interview Test 1. Preliminary Examinations: The Civil Services Aptitude Test/ Preliminary Examination is scheduled to take place on 24th August 2014 for all the IPS Applicants. The Preliminary Exam shall consist of two papers of General Studies to be solved in two hours each for both the papers. The study of the papers shall be based on the following main topics: Current Affairs of National and International Events Indian and World History Indian and World Geography Indian Constitution and Governance Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development General Science respectively Paper II shall consist of questions on the following main topics: Interpersonal Skills General Mental Ability Analytical Reasoning Logical Reasoning English Language Comprehension Skills Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation Decision Making and Problem Solving Comprehension based questions 2. Mains Examination & Interview: The Mains Exam for the Indian Police Service Applicants shall consist of 9 papers on different subjects as mentioned here below. Paper 1 Objective Type (200 Marks) 2 Hours Paper II Objective Type (200 Marks) 2 Hours Paper III English Language Descriptive Type (200 Marks) 3 Hours Paper IV Essay Descriptive Type (200 Marks) 3 Hours Paper V General Descriptive Type (200 Marks) 3 Hours and Interview Marks: 200 |
