KSRTC, the affectionate name for Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, associates the state well on street. As one of the most seasoned worked and oversaw open transports of India.

The historical backdrop of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation started while the improvement of the vehicle business it wasn't sufficiently blasting like today. The Travancore State Transport Department (TSTD) was constituted by the past Travancore Government with a view to redesign the vehicle administration of the State.Mr E.G. Salter, Assistant, Operating Supdt of London Passenger Transport Board was delegated as Supdt on 20.9.1937.

Subsequent on the institution of Road Transports Corporation Act in 1950, Govt. of Kerala planned KSRTC controls in 1965 by sec.44 and the division was changed over into a self-ruling partnership on 1.4.1965. The Kerala State street Transport Corporation was built up by the legislature of Kerala by the notice dated, 15-3-1965. The plans required for the cover taking up of the administrations keep running by the Kerala State Transport Department were made speedily by the Corporation. .
